DAC Rallies Behind Plaza Lanes
The Douglas Avenue Coalition was saddened to learn of the fire at Plaza Lanes. Randy Thompson and his family have provided countless hours of entertainment for our community over the decades and our thoughts and prayers go out to them. We were excited, but not surprised, to learn that Randy already intends to build a bigger and better family entertainment venue to enhance our community. We are indebted to Randy’s resilience and determination to make the north side of Des Moines a more fun-filled place to live. The Douglas Avenue Coalition will work closely with Randy to assist him during this process. We know that Plaza Lanes will come back stronger than ever and continue to be a beacon in our neighborhood.
We would also like to thank all the firefighters and first-responders involved. We are grateful for their selfless dedication to our community’s safety and well-being. Without their valiant efforts, there would have been a far worse outcome.
